Frequently Asked Questions
Is plastic surgery only for cosmetic or beauty enhancement?
No. The vast majority of our work is Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. We restore normal form and function to parts of the body damaged by accidents, burns, diabetic ulcers, or congenital birth defects.
Are scar revision surgeries covered under insurance?
Surgical reconstruction for functional limitations (like burn contractures or post-trauma scars) is typically covered by mediclaim. Purely aesthetic or cosmetic scar treatments are generally not covered. We can assist with verification.
How is scar revision performed?
Depending on the size, it can often be done as a day-care procedure under local anesthesia. The old scar is precisely excised and the skin is closed with ultra-fine sutures using advanced plastic surgery techniques to make the new scar minimal.
How do I book a consultation with the plastic surgeon?
Plastic surgery consultations are scheduled strictly by appointment at MMOH. Please contact our front desk to book a slot with our visiting specialist.
